(own correspondent.) Napier. Wednesday. At the Magistrate’s Court yesterday the case Sawkins v. Faulkner, for an alleged infraction of the Municipal Corporations Act, was withdrawn without costs. At the Police Court to-day Mrs Brown was charged with the murder of Georgina Butler on the 2nd inst., and remanded till to-morrow. Wairoa, Wednesday. The annual meeting of the Clyde Town Board was held on Tuesday night, wr.en Mr J. T. Large was elected chairman. Auckland, Wednesday. The miners at the Kamo Colliery, Whangarei, have struck on account of a reduction in their wages. In the Supreme Court on Monday Thomas Francis Holt, for embezzlement of a Friendly Society’s funds, was sentenced to six months’ hard labor.
