LAMP RAYS KILL GERMS

MEDICAL DISCOVERIES LONDON. March 2. The British Medical Journal reports the discovery of a lamp, the rays from which kill germs in operating theatres. It states that '132 chest operations resulted in half of the usual deaths from infection. The Lancet describes the use of a mist at Westminster Hospital in which a jet of atomised antiseptic fluid is sprayed against a rapidly revolving fan. From the fan emerges an invisible mist which remains suspended for two days.
