BABY’S LIFE SAVED
DISATH OF MOTHER NEW YORK, Feb. 10. Eight minutes after'his mother died, a baby boy weighing 51b. was born in the Physicians’ Hospital here to-day. Two young doctors performed an operation on Mrs. Margaret Carney alter she died, working with improvised instruments, to save the baby. The child will live, say Drs. Louis Peri 110 and Samuel Berman, who saved him. Dr. Berman said: "An unborn baby cannot live more than eight or 10 minutes after the mother's death because of the stoppage of the blood circulation. “We performed an immediate operation and put the baby in a resuscitator."
