HOMING PIGEONS

YOUNG BIRD SERIES RACE FROM WOODVILEE A further race in the young bird series conducted by the Poverty Bay Central Homing Pigeon Society was held from Woodville on .Saturday, over an airline distance of 163 miles. The conditions were favourable, and excellent velocities were recorded. The winner, T. Crosby's Lady Pam, was clocked in at 4.20 p.m., with a velocity of 1103.6yd5. per min. Federation Race Two of the members competed in the New Zealand young bird championship race over 120 miles. The Poverty Bay club Hew from Tauranga, but owing to head winds poor velocities were registered. The following are the details: —
