FAREWELL COMPLIMENT PR ESI DENT’S DEBAR TU RE TO -ft 10 EE 0W ’ S 'I 1 0 URN E V Amateur boxers of this district will co-operate in presenting a lengthy programme of exhibition bouts tomorrow evening at the Physical Fitness Club's premises in Nesbitt road, a tournament having been arranged to permit boxers and boxing supporters to bid farewell to Mr. A. S. Parker, who is leaving to take up his residence in Dannevirke. Mr. Parker has occupied the office of president of the Gisborne Boxing Association for several years, and has represented that association in the national organisation of which lie wa.s president for 1937-38. The amateur boxers will have assistance from the professional, Clarry Marshall, who lias agreed to give a sparring exhibition with S. O’Connor as his opponent. All the boxers who have shown ability in the past year’s public tournaments have been enrolled, and more than one of the promising amateurs who have not yet displayed their talents publicly. • The programme lias been drawn up as follows: — Neil Harris v.
