A fresh avalanche to-day swept the village of Bareges. Residents in the outskirts lowered 40 villagers to safety from the top storeys of houses where they were trapped by debris. The number of casualties additional to the 27 already reported as dead is unknown. The damage is estimated at £20,000. Skiers are taking food to MB isolated workmen. The bodies of 13 of the victims of the first avalanche on Friday have been recovered.
