YOUNG WOMAN KILLED
FALL FROM A LORRY WHEEL RUNS OVER BODY (Por Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. Thrown from a motor lorry on Epiba road, Motunui, yesterday afternoon, Annie Elizabeth Webb, aged 27, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Webb, Tikorangi, was killed instantly. She was a member of a party which visited Motunui Beach for a swim and was returning in a motor lorry driven by Arthur Webb, a brother of the young woman. She apparently stood up in the back of the lorry and leaned over with the intention of speaking to someone in the cab. She missed her footing and was thrown over the side of the lorry on to the road, the back wheel of the lorry passing over her chest and head'*, killing her instantly.
