PUBLIC’S FINE SUPPORT
SALE OF HEALTH STAMPS £2OO IN GISBORNE FUND “The public of Gisborne has been generous in its support of the appeal relating to the sale of health stamps,” said the chief postmaster, Mr. A. M. Robertson, to-day when reporting that already £2OO had passed through the fund for the Gisborne district.
The .stamps .will be withdrawn from sale next month, by which time it is expected that the total will be largely increased.
Included in the total, Mr. Robertson said, there was £54 in cash donations that had been collected during the postmen’s drive. The sale of stamps in the foyer of the Gisborne office had melt with great success as it haid served to remind business people and others that they could assist the health camp movement by a few pence each time they were posting mail. Mr. Robertson explained that half the money collected from the sale of stamps and all the cash donations in the Gisborne district were devoted to the camp in Gisborne, and was of great assistance in keeping the camp going.
