DUNC4AKVAN’S VICTORY By “Trenton” Dungarvan came back to the winning list after a series of disappointments with a slashing victory in the main event at Wairarapa on Monday. seasons ago he was a great galloper and won the Railway Handicap at Trentham in the autumn carrying 9.3, the Marton Cup, carrying 9.7, the President’s Handicap at Manawatu carrying 9.5fJ, the Fendalton Handicap at Riccarton carrying 8.10, the Pearce Handicap at Wellington carrying 9.7, and the Awatea Handicap at the same meeting carrying 9.0. He certainly relished the race on Monday carrying 7.12 —he had the advantage of a 51b allowance.
