The track was hard and the weather fine for the final day of the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting at Ellerslie. The attendance was IC,OOO. The totalisator handled £59,045 against £G4,962 on the fourth day last year, a decrease of £5917. The total for the four days was £319,502, against £293,001 10s, an increase of £21,440 10s. Results:—

The order was unchanged along the back and Paddy the Rip turned first, with Day Wind and Valamito, who came fast to win by half a length from Paddy the Rip, with Homily the same distance away. Golden Sheila was fourth. Time, 2.7.
