FUTURE OF GOEBBELS
DECLINING INFLUENCE PROPAGANDA MINISTRY, FOREIGN OFFICE CONTROL (Eke. Tol. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Jan. 3, 1.50 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 2. The Daily Mirror persisting in the story that the illness of the German Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goebbels, is really the result of personal violence as a result of his visiting the flat of a Czech film star, predicts that the Ministry of Propaganda would gradually pass to the control of the German Foreign Ministry. Dr. Goebbels is paid to have been reduced to the position of chief of the Nazi Party in Berlin. Herr Hitler is hesitant at present to deprive him of Ministerial rights, fearing that such action would precipitate a party crisis.
