THE POVERTY. BAY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD EXTENSIONS LOAN OF £75,000 (1938) NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the Poverty Bay Elec-tric-power Board held on Friday, 16th day of December, 1938, the following resolution, of which due notice had been given, was passed, viz: "In pursuance and exercise cf the powers vested in it by Section la of the Finance Act (No. 2) 1930. the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board hereby resolves- bv way of Special Order as follows: That for the purpose of obtaining additional moneys for providing, erecting and constructing a system of electric distribution and reticulation in parts of the Poverty Bay Electric-power District which are i not at present reticulated, and of improving, altering, adding to and extending the present system ot electric distribution, reticulation and substations, and of purchasing general equipment, apparatus, appliances, plant, tools, instruments, motor vehicles, land and easements and of erecting buildings within the said District, the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board hereby authorises the raising of a loan ot seventy-five thousand pounds at an interest rate of three pounds ten shillings per centum, per annum » for a period of twenty-five years. Tho said loan or any part thereof together with interest thereon shall be repaid by equal aggregate halfyearly instalrCSßjits." VND notice is hereby given that the abovo resolution will be submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board to be held on FRIDAY. 13th day of January, 1939. at the Boards office, Peel Street, Gisborne, at 10 a.m. AND further notice is hereby given in accordance with the requirements of Section 16 of the Finance Act (No 2) 193 G. that no moneys shall be borrowed in accordance with the resolution set out above if. before the 13th day of January, 1939 not less than five per centum of the total ratepayers whose names are inscribed on the ratepayers' roll of the several constituent districts within tho Poverty Bay Electric-power District bv writing under their hands delivered or sent by post to the office of the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board at Peel Street, Gisborne, demand that a poll be taken on the proposal.
