Mr. L. D. Abbott, Opotiki, was in Gisborne over the New Year holidays, and visited the Nuhaka Show

Superintendent F. Lewin, of the Wellington police force, and Mrs. Lewin arrived in Gisborne on Friday and left on Sunday morning for Tauranga. Mr. and Mrs. D. G. Beattie, Opotiki, were week-end visitors to Gisborne. They attended the Nuhaka Show yesterday, where Mr. Beattie was judge in the pig section. Mr. Beattie is now manager of the Opotiki Dairy Association's pig farmi. and was formerly supervisor for the Bay of PlentyPoverty Bay Pig Council. Mr. H. V. Lawry, manager of the South British Insurance Company, Limited, Dunedin, for the past eight vears, has received advice from the head office of the company in Auckland of his transfer to Perth as manager for Western Australia. Mr. J. W. Normie, manager in Napier, has been appointed to a similar position in Dunedin.
