TOLAGA BAY NEWS
(Horald Comispondimt.) There was a good attendance at a flag five-hundred card party last night in aid of the Scout Jamboree fund. Those at the winning table were Mesdames F. Holder and W. IT. Laing and Messrs. T. G. McCullough and C. Christopherson. The lady with most clips was Mrs. Laing and the gentleman Mr. J. R. Lincoln. Travelling envelopes went to Messrs. McCullough and F. Holder and other prizes to Mrs. F. Holder and Mr. W. Waite. The ladies served a delicious supper.
The triends of Mrs. C. U. O’Connell will regret to know that she is an inmate of Cook Hospital, Gisborne.
Advice has been received by Mr. C. H2. Smith that his son, Mr. Keith Smith, who is attending the Agricultural High School at Fcilding, won the senior sports championship for the second time in succession, with an aggregate pi 28 points. The run-ner-up secured 17 points. Smith secured first places in the following events: 100yds., 220yds. in record time of 24 2-ssec„ high jump, long jump, hop-step-and-jump, and second in the 440yds.
