BODY IN THERMAL POOL
ROTORUA TRAGEDY OLD AGE PENSIONER (Per Press Association.) ROTORUA, last night. An old-age pensioner, Robert Johnston, aged 70, was found this morning lying dead in the thermal pool in the Kuirau reserve. A resident, Mr. F. B. K. McArthur, was taking an early morning walk through the reserve when he saw a pair of feet protruding from the water of the pool and on investigating discovered the body floating face upwards. A doctor and the police were immediately called, the doctor stating that death was probably due to heart failure. Mr. Johnston was rescued from the same pool in June when he had almost expired, and was on the point of drowning. So far as is known he had only, one relative, a son residing in Auckland.
