The markets were distinctly brighter on the London Stock Exchange to-day. Prices were higher in almost all sections and buyers were more ready to purchase. Mines and home industrials made quite a cheerful showing. The sudden change of sentiment is attributed partly to the dissipation of fears regarding the Spanish situation and partly to authoritative assurances given to the effect that no large or even small financial institution has had to canvass for assistance.
