DIOCESE OF WAIAPU

ANNUAL SYNOD SESSION (Special to tlie Herald.) NAPIER, this day. The first annual session of the twenty-seventh synod of the diocese of Waiapu opened at St. John's Church, Napier, to-day. The Bishop of Waiapu, the Rt. Rev. H. W. Williams presided. A quiet day was observed yesterday, the conductor being the Archdeacon of Waikato, the Ven. 11. R. B. Gillespie. A roll call of members was followed this morning by the celebration of Holy Communion, and then the president delivered his charge. The synod will reassemble in the Synod Hall a! 2.30 p.m. for the transaction of business.
