TRAINING OE CHINESE ITALIANS AND GERMANS GRATITUDE IN TOKIO DEFIANCE OF BOYCOTT (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Oct. 13, 3 p.m.) LONDON. Oct. 12. The Tokio correspondent of The Times says that the Japanese newspapers give prominence to messages from Rome announcing that Signor Mussolini has ordered Italian aviation instructors to discontinue service with the Chinese Government. The step is reported to have been taken in accordance with Signor Mussolini’s agreement with Herr Hitler, who is recalling Germans who have been training the Chinese Army. The Japanese press also expresses gratitude to the Italian and German powerful friendship which, it is suggested, will enable the Japanese to carry on in the event of a boycott by others.
