RUST IN WHEAT BELT.

LOSSES IN AMERICA REDUCTION OF CROPS MONTREAL, June 29. The Chicago correspondent of the Australian Associated Press reports that one widely-known crop expert, who is conducting a 1000-mile tour of the winter wheat belt, said that he found every field he inspected badly infested with rust and severely damaged. Many fields which promised to give 30 to 35 bushels to the acre, will not yield over 10 bushels. Conditions are similar to those in 1904, 1916 and 1935, when wholesale destruction of crops occurred. ESTIMATE OF RAILWAYS NEW YORK, June 29. A Winnipeg message says that the railways’ provision of 50,000 cars indicates that the wheat crop will be less than 250,000,000 bushels.
