NO REDUCTION LIKELY
THE PRICE OF GOLD INFERENCE IN LONDON (Reed. June 30, noon.) LONDON, June 29. The financial press considers that Sir John Simon’s statement in the debate on the increase of the equalisation fund, means that investors can dismiss a gold price reduction from their calculations. It is becoming clear that private buyers will take some time to recover confidence, although the falls have been overdone. The Bankers’ Magazine calculates that the aggregate fall in a list of 305 securities is £420.000,000. The index is the lowest since November, 1935.
