At the meeting Britain and France will propose that their navies should fill the gap in the patrolling of the Spanish coast caused by the withdrawal of Italy and Germany from the scheme. Messages from Berlin and Rome indicate that Herr von Ribbentrop and the Italian Ambassador, Signor Grandi, will jointly oppose the proposal on the ground that it is tantamount to support for file Spanish Government at Valencia. The Rome correspondent of The Times says that the outcome of the meeting in London is nervously await cd in Italian diplomatic circles. RETURN OF REFUGEES REBEL CHIEF’S REQUEST BILBAO CHILDREN LONDON, June 28. A Gibraltar message says it has been announced from Salamanca that General Franco, generalissimo of the Spanish insurgent forces, is sending a Note to the French and British Governments asking for the return of the Basque children who were evacuated from Bilbao.
