ANNIVERSARY DINNER TWO PRESENTATIONS There was a large gathering of friends of Messrs. Bignell and Holmes at Lo Grand Cafe lust evening when a dinner, celebrating the twentyfifth anniversary of the establishment of the Ford dealership in the Gisborno territory was held. The .Mayor, .Mr. T). W. Coleman, M.P., presided,, and there were also present Mr. G. H. Jackson, managing director of the Ford Motor Company of New Zealand, Limited, members of the company's executive Saff and Mr. 11. Miller, general manager for New Zealand of Firestone. Limited.

Toasts and musical items followed an excellent dinner, and the celebration passed in a very happy manner. During the evening Mr. G. 11. Jackson, on behalf of the Ford Company, presented Mr. W. Bignell and .Mr." 11. Holmes with two silver greyhounds, handsomely mounted and suitably inscribed. In making the pre. sentation, Mr. Jackson said the gifts were symbols of speed, given by the company with its wishes for a speedy and" successful future, and with the .hope that they both would live long to enjoy it.

.Messrs. Bignell and Holmes suitably returned thanks. After the loyal toast had been honoured, the following toast list, interspersed with musical items, was gone through:—"The Ford Motor Company of New Zealand, Limited," proposed bv .Mr. 11. Holmes and responded to bv Mr. G. 11. Jackson; "The Future of Gisborno," proposed by Mr. W. G. Taylor and responded to bv Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P.; "'Messrs. Bignell and Holmes," proposed bv Mr. IT. F. Forstcr and replied to by Mr. 11. Holmes; "The Staff of Messrs. Bignell and Holmes," proposed bv Mr. T. Brune and replied to bv Mr. T. Ensor, and "The Press," proposed by Mr. It. Bindlcy.
