TOKOMARU BAY SUB-UNION TRANSFER OF PLAVERS TOLAGA DAY. REQUEST (Herald Correspondent.) A meeting of the management committee of the Tokomaru Bay Rugby &uoI nion was held last night m Mirhino's room, Tokomaru Bay. lhe piesident, Mr. J. Dates, was in the emui and there, were present Messrs. J. Corbett (Waima), N. Runganuiga, and J. Bennett (United), A, Tuckwell and M; Barbara (Tawhiti), the Rev. Mr. Rang' (referees) and the secretary. Mr. V. Naden. . ■ \ letter from lhe Tolaga Bay subunion was received, asking for permission to plav live members residing in its boundary but now alleged to be registered in a dub affiliated with the I'okomai-ii Bay Sub-Union. '.lhe letter intimated that the sub-union was in need of a third club to make the subunion function and had depended on the formation of the proposed Arero club to constitute that third club. "The sub-union was giving the club every inducement and would like to retain "the players," stated the letter, bul if it, should fail in this it would not withhold granting permission toy -the players to be transferred to the lokomaru sub-union, the transfers going through the-East Coast Rugby Union Tlie chairman said that if the players wanted to play in the Tolaga sub-union they should be allowed to do so as he wanted to see them play football. Mr. Tuckwell intimated that it these players were to (represent 'the local United club and then went to play in Tolaga' Bay, the local club would not be able to "held a learn, with the result that the sun-union would have only two senior teams. He also said that if the players mentioned were in the Tolaga Bay boundary why should that sub-union write to this sub-union asking for permission to play them? After considerable discussion, it was ascertained that the players mentioned had expressed a desire to play for the United club, but had not registered in that club. It was decided to reply to the Tolaga sub-union stating that the five players mentioned in the letter were not registered members of any club in this subunion. Transport Expenses

The question of transport expenses of players travelling from Tokomaru Bay to Waipiro Bay was brought up. .Mr. Tuckwell told the meeting of the arrangement of his club, which was to the effect that the club paid half the travelling expenses to Tokomaru Bay, while the players themselves payed tin other half. It was decided that each club should pay its own expenses when it travelled to.Waipiro Bay. Mr Rangi asked if the Tawhiti club got a percentage of the gate, receipts from Tokomaru Bay and the chairman replied in the negative, adding that it, received the whole 'of the takings ol club matches held at Waipiro Bay. Mr. Corbett asked for permission for the Waima club to make arrangements for a senior team from Gisborne to pla\ Waima seniors on Coronation Day. lie suggested that if the negotiations failed the sub-union should arrange a local match. The gate receipts, said Mr. Corl>ett, would go to the sub-union and he asked for a donation of CI for the entertainment of the visitors should the match eventuated. Permission was granted. Next Round Altered

A request from Mr. Tuckwell regarding the next round of the competition,. to the effect that the draw should be altered to permit Tawhiti seniors and juniors to play at Tokomaru Bay on the same day, wr.3 acceded to. This necessitated a iicw draw for the second round, which resulted as follows:

May 15. —Waima v. United seniors and Juniors, at Tokomaru Bay; May 2£. Tawhiti v. United seniors and juniors at Tokomaru Bay; May 29, Tawhiti v. Vaima senfbrs, at Waipiro Bay, and Tawhiti v. Waima juniors, at Tokomaru Bay.

Mr. Gates stated that the United club was giving a smoke concert next Saturlay evening to farewell Mr. A. K. Nodwell, lie extended an invitation to any who would care to attend. The chairman asked about a function '.o !)(• held to present last year's trophies if the seven-a-side tournament. Mr. Corhett' informed the meeting of the decision arrived at at the annual meeting of the sub-union and it was decided to combine with that committee, suggesting a dance to be held on May 21. Mr. Oorbett reported the ordering off "f a Waima junior player at Tokomaru Bav last Saturday and asked what the sub-union intended to do in the matter, •rf-ntine that the club was short of junior olayers and itimating that if this meeting did not deal with it the man would be compelled to stand down until further notice. The opinion expressed was thft as the committee had not had the referee's renort on the subject no action would be taken.

It was decided to hold the annual seven-a-side tournament on June 9. the arrangements to be made later.
