Mr. and Mrs. J. Blmnsky and family, who have been residing at Kopuawhara for some time, have returned to live in the Muriwai district. —Special. The many friends of Captain \V, T. Pitt, of the Native Department's staff, will regret to learn that lie is confined to his home by illness, and is unlikely to resume duty during the next fortnight, lie was taken ill suddenly at Mahia last Wednesday, and his condition is reported to be improving,

Mr. It. M. nrasted, national secretary of the Y.M.C.A., paid a brief visit to Cisborne on Saturday and left during the day for Wellington. On his way to Gisborne Mr. Brasted called at Kopuawhara, where the Y.M.C.A. hut was destroyed by fire last week.

Kerridge will spend some weeks in the United States and Canada, and plans to visit Los Angeles, New Vork, and Vancouver in the course of his tour.

Mr. J. S. W. Neilson, Raukokore, who recently met with a serious accident while motoring between Raukokore and Cape Runaway, has recovered from his painful injuries. He has retired from the active management of his sheep-station and in future will live in Rotorua. Mr. Xeilson, who is well known in Gisborne, has been connected with the management of sheep-stations during the last 50 years, 27 years of which have been devoted to the management of the station at Raukokore.
