CHINESE FRUITERERS

With regard to a suggestion made by the committee of inquiry into the Dominion fruit trade, that the thumb prints of Chinese and other Asiatics engaged in the fruit and vegetable trade should ho taken to simplify the identification, the Cliineso Conou-l, Mr. Feng Wang, said to a pressman to-day that the committee actually recommended to impose on his countrymen resident in the Dominion an act which, in all eivilisod countries was associated only with crime.
“I have not the slightest doubt, however, that, the New Zealand Government will not even consider the committee s suggestion, because il would lie most unfriendly to ( liina and is contrary to the British sense of fair play,” lie eon eluded.
