Ibe prizes in the 1936 competition in practical journalism were awarded as follows by the council of the Now Zealand Journalists' Association: First, Mr. K. K. Ciicen. Auckland Star; second, Mr. M. I*. Whatman. ('liristeliiireli Star-Sun. and [<". C. ,limes. Auckland Star, equal ; commended for good work in sports journalism, Mr. T. A. Fleming, Chrislchurch Star-Sun. The judges of the competition were Mr. J. 11. Hall, M.A., former editor of the Dominion, Wellington, and Mr. A. 11..I 1 .. Mulgan, supervisor of hmndeast talkfor (he National Jlroadeiisting Service, Wellington.
