KEEN DEMAND FOR WOOL
o CRUTCHINGS AT NAPIER GOOD CLEARANCE MADE (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, last night. Prices 2d to better than those at the 1935 winter sale, and Id to l£d hotter than the same quality at the last summer sale were procured at the 3956 crutching sale in Napier this afternoon. Competition was keen from a fully representative bench of buyers. England; Canada, America and Japan were the most eager buyers, seeking coarse wool for carpel manpfacture. The highest price was 10|d for clean well-sorted super wool. There was practically a 100 per cent clearance of the total offering, 1989 bales. Super fetched 9'.d to 10Jd, medium j BJd to 9d; low quality, up to Bd. | The offering- included a small quan- j titv of fleece wool, which fetched up to j lOd-. • '. , The offering included good and indifferent quality crutchings from all parts of the province. The competition amongst buyers made it evident that crutchings are in keen demand by overseas manufacturers. The resulrs of the sale are considered highly satisfactory by both brokers and sellers. • ■
