(Herald Correspondent.) To-day's, football on the Lambton Square ground, Wairoa. was to be Wairoa v. Huiarau. The latter team had been unbeaten in its hist four games against, the Galatea sub-union. The Huiarau team, which arrived on Friday night, was to he selected from the following: .1. Doyle, T. Smiler. B. F. Parkimon, .1. Norris, 0. Forsyth. K. Welch. M. Corner. 1.. Greenwood, M. A very successful social was held the oilier evening at Osier's Hall. The .Misses Buchanan and Miss Clifford had charge of the arrangements. The balloon dance was won by Mr. and Mrs. R. Dickenson, and the euchre prizes fell to Mrs. J. Finucane. Z\liss Lose Callahan, and Messrs. 11. Goodley and W. Gray. The waltzing competition, which was judged by .Mr. R. Buckingham, resulted in the is-sue of certificates to .Mr. I'. Million, partnered by Miss J. Brotherton, and Mr. W. Green, partnered by Miss P. Fitzgerald. The aggregate winners were: Mesclames E. Tnnnell, R. Corbett, C. Rees, N. Crarer, A. Poyzer, F. Moloney. K. Thompson, T. Hutchinson. .Misses F. Moloney and .1. Konuke, and Messrs. L. Fbbi'ti. K. Ilunn. S. Konuke. IT. Goodley, and B. Bell. Travelling prizes were awarded to Mrs. M. Finucane and .Mr. L. Summcrfield. Special prizes were won by Miss F. Hutchinson and Mr. J. St. Clair. Mr. L. Gay was the M.C. Mr. T. L. Powdrell was tendered warm congratulations at the Farmers' Union meeting on his election to the Meat Board electoral college.—Mr. L. Spillcr. at present a. student at the Auckland Training College, who has been spending a week at The Chateau, Tongariro National Park, is visiting his parents. Air. and Mrs. T. Spiller, North Clyde.—
