TOKOMARU BAY NEWS
A CARD EVENING (Herald Correspondent.) Mrs. J. Riddell, Tokomaru Bay, was the hostess at a very enjoyable bridge evening on Wednesday, in honour of Mrs. L. Steed, who is shortly leaving with her family to make .her home in Gisborne. The drawing-room, where four tables were arranged for play, was artistically decorated with bowls and vases of Iceland poppies. .Mrs. Steed won (he prize for the highest score and Mrs. X. Ual.es annexed (ho honours for the hidden number. On behalf of her friends, Mrs. Riddell presented the. guest of honour with a dock ami wished her good luck and happiness for the future. Mrs. Steed briefly replied: and expressed regret at her departure from Tokomaru Bay, whore she was leaving so many friends. The hostess served a. delicious supper at the conclusion of cards. Those present, were Mesdames L Steed, .1. HiddeH. J. L. Grant, P. Kay, I. I.owe, A. Parke. W. .Moat, D. Powell, J. Curbed. .1. Todd, .1. Dales, N. Gates. C. Burnett. E. llankey, IT. Angus, and 11, IT Short.
