GERMAN OFFICER’S END
REVOLVER BESIDE BODY OLYMPIC VILLAGE FIGURE (Reed. Aug. 21, noon) BERLIN, Aug. 20. Captain Wolfgang Fucrstner, oxcommander of the Olympic village, was found dead with a revolver by his side.
Another officer was placed in command before the Games after suggestions that Captain Fuers-tner b descent was not purely Aryan. Captain Fucrstner continued to work in the organisation of the village and was most popular with foreign sportsmen and visitors.
Captain Fuerstner is said to have had so small a. percentage of Jewish blood that there was no ground for anxiety. It had been suggested that Captain Fuerstner’s descent was not purely Aryan, and another officer was placed in command at the village.
It is now believed that he was a victim of overstrain
