CAR DRIVER FOR TRIAL . NEGLIGENCE ALLEG ED (Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. As a sequel to a motor collision near Winslow on June 17. when Miss Mary Emily Lowe, of Hinds, was killed, Delacy Cameron, a commercial traveller, ot limaru, was charged yesterday with negligent driving and causing death. He was committed for trial, bail being allowed at £IOO with sureties for a like amount.

Evidence was given to the effect, that the accused’s car was on the wrong side of the road. It! struck a third car and slewed to the left and then to the right, striking the car driven by Miss Lowe's brother and tearing and twisting the right side of the latter car. The police said that the accused admitted having two brandies at Ashburton about three hours before the accident, but there was no indication that the brandy had affected his gait.
