WIN FOR CANTERBURY TWENTY-TWO TO NINE (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Although the Canterbury .Rugby representatives heat Manawatu by 22 points to nine to-day, the performance of the homo team was far front convincing and, with two-thirds of the game gone, Manawatu were extremely unlucky not to have a useful lead after being even in the first spell. Manawatu attacked for a long period, but lacked 'finish. For the last quarter, Canterbury woke up and scored three tries with brilliant combined work. There were 6000 spectators. The scorers for Canterbury were: McAuliffo (two penalties and one conversion), Pablecheque, two tries, Sweeney a try, Mortlock a try, Manchester a conversion, and for Manawatu Finlay two penalties and Waugh a try.
