TRIAL IN NEW GUINEA

FAILURE OF CHARGE DEATH OF A NATIVE KABUL, Aug. 19. Chief Judge Wauliss to-day found Lueidius Zimmer not guilty of illegally killing a native. Zimmer, who was attached to the Catholic mission of New Guinea, was originally charged with shooting a native, but the charge of murder had hen reduced hv the Crown Law officer to a charge of manslaughter.

The judge scathingly criticised the officer, and said he hail deprived the court of considering whether the accused was guilty of wilful murder or murder, leaving the court to deal only with the charge of manslaughter.
