AMUSE MENTS . ; THE REGENT Scientifically Heated Throughout. LAST DAY And absolutely the last opportunity of seeing “THE BOHEMIAN GIRL” With LAUREL AND HARDY (Approved for Universal Exhibition) COMMENCING TO-MORROW COMMENCING TO-MORROW One of the most unusual and important films ever produced. THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS PASTEUR PASTEUR PASTEUR PASTEUR PASTEUR PASTEUR I wonder how many of the general public realise just who Louis Pasteur was and what is his place among the great men of last century. I, for one. freely admit that until in the course of preparing advertisements for this picture I took the trouble to read ah account of the great scientist’s accomplishments, I certainly had no conception either of the importance to the medical world of this man’s discoveries or of the romantic nature of his life. To me the name Pasteur seemed inseparably associated with germs, microscopes, scalded milk, and the vague but unmistakable aroma of a dairy factory. Not a particularly exciting life, this chasing bacteria, one would say; least of all a subject for a film by which people expect to be entertained. This was my mental attitude when faced with the task of writing advertisements for “Louis Pasteur;;" and I naturally did not relish the job of attempting to sell such unpromising ■, u■ ■ material! - V Since y then, however, I have been able to see the picture; and if ever T I want to • guard , against condemning pictures unseen, I shall think v of "Louis Pasteur” and how I misjudged it. First and foremost, the picture is entertainment of a mast absorbing and exciting nature; it is a revelation of the hide- . bound . prejudice and , unbelievable conservatism of the nineteenth century public in general and . medical , profession . ,in particular; also it is a much-needed reminder of the incalculable debt which we all owe to such giants of the past as was this man. However, though the phenomenon of fermentation may not interest you —though the microscope may leave you cold; and . though.you may prefer to leave bacteria-hunting to the bacteria-hunters —still I can assure you that if you miss "The Story of Louis Pasteur” you will miss one' of the finest entertainments ever presented. —Advertisement Writer.

FURTHER PRESS NOTICES: “It seems to me that Warner Brothers once more--have demonstrated exceptional foresight in turning such socially valuable and vital factual material into so dramatic and creative a motion picture. 'The Story of Louis Pasteur,’ I am sure, will blaze a new trail for films in the future, winning the high commendation of all lovers and patrons of the cinema medium. Such approval will redound to Warner Bros.’ credit and prestige, and that of the entire motion picture industry as well.” “Muni, as Pasteur, is magnificent —his is acting in the dnest. sense of the word. Just how much I think of his artistry may be conveyed by the fact that without any need to do so I saw the picture twice —the second time just to gloat, for once, over a really artistic and thoroughly satisfactory performance.” “The screen makes a great departure from prosaic formula. . . . . Gripped the audience and kept,it in hushed silence.” THE STORY OP LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS THE STORY OF LOUIS PASTEUR PASTEUR PASTEUR PASTEUR PASTEUR (Approved for Universal Exhibition).
