Carroll, was in the chair. Committees and sub-committees were formed for the new year in order to revise the schedule for the coining Show. Before the date for the Show was arranged a deputation was received from the Wairoa Racing Club and it was pointed out that owing to the tact that the Racing Conference lixod the dates for all race meetings in New Zealand the Wairoa club had no option but to accept those allotted them. The Hawke’s Bay Ram Fair also was being held at the end of January and the deputation considered that these two circumstances affected the club as well as the society, and asked the. meeting to give the matter of fixing dates its earnest consideration.

This question was discussed from all angles and after considering the interests of the society, the farming community, and (lie district as a whole, it w;is decided that the Show should lie held on February 3, 1937, flic day before the races. The committee was asked to make every effort in appealing to members and exhibitors to make the 1937 Show a record one. It was stated that a new class would be included in the schedule next year under the wool section, which would call for inter-district- competition between Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, and Poverty Bay. It was reported that the grounds committee had been active in planting willows and other trees for shelter and that permanent improvements also were to be carried out.

Organised by Mr. S. A. .Dickie, a sports meeting will he held on February 5. 1937. and as flic proceeds of these sports arc to form the nucleus of a fund for permanent improvements, the committee trusted that the public would assist bv attending the gathering at full strength. Two new members wore, elected and the president stressed the importance of increasing the membership and hoped to see tlie total reach 400.
