WAIKATO STOCK VALUES SALE AT PLANKTON Holli wethers and ewes were in short supply at- the Franklon sa leva ids on Tuesday, creating spirited competition. The yarding was of good quality and prices showed a. sharp rise on last week s quotations. Only a small yarding of ox beef came forward, with values again showing an improvement. There was a heavy entry of cow and heifer beei. including a, good proportion of extra weltiinished cattle. Competition was very keen and prices showed a considerable improvement/. HASTINGS STCfCK SALE FAT CATTLE MARKET FIRM The market for fat cattle at the Hastings stock sale yesterday was firm, l’rime ox sold at £l2 15s for three particularly large P.A. of extra fine finish. Other prices went to £l2 l.Vs, heifers to £8 12s 6d, and cows 1o £?. CLEARING SALE JERSEY COWS SELL TO £ll A successful clearing sale .was conducted by Messrs. Common, Shelton and Company yesterday on ;behalf of Mr. J. T. Herbert, Bushtnijro road, Matawkero. There was a j fair attendance of the public. The majority of the stock were disposed of, there .being good competition for the It* high-grade Jersey cows, all. tested. The top price of All was paid for three good quality sorts, while the others sold at values from At! upwards. The 21 H-year heifers, 9S of which -were in .milk and tested, to date, did not sell so-readily. One good quality springing heifer realised the excellent price of i’ll, but the remainder sold from £-1 10s to £O.
