The reconditioning of the Esk railway bridge is being pushed' ahead steadily 'by men working under the Public Works Department, and it is hoped shortly io bring the structure to sulticicnt strength to carry the transport train which conveys men up the line daily from Napier. The work of restoring the bridge includes the renewing of a number of piles. In. the meantime the transport, train is travelling to L'slcdale, from where the men continue in trucks drawn by a small locomotive. No increase has .been .made by the department during the past week in the number of men. employed on the line at the Napier end. CAUSE OP GREY HAIR.
