TOKOMARU BAY NEWS
A SURPRISM KVMNINCI (Herald Correspondent.) A very jolly surprise evening was held at the home of Mrs. 11. .Johnson, Ongoruru, on Thursday evening, in honour of Mrs. .). Daly, who is leaving Tokoinarn Bay this week to make her home in Oisborne. The drawingroom was gaily decorated with bowls of clirvsn n tlioinn ms and autumn foliage. The evening passed very brightly with social chat, interspersed with a few games and competitions, which ail enjoyed. The hostess served supper near the dose of the evening, when, on behalf of those present, the guest of honour was asked to accept a crvsUtl bowl as a token of remembrance. Those present were Mesdanies ,T. Daly, 0. Daly, 11. Johnson, A. Johnson, 11. Oates, N. Oates, T. Oonoie, s. Doig, ,J. Riddell. B, Stafford, 0. Pepper, and Miss P>. Doig. Air. and Airs. J. Moody, Tokonmru Bay, left this week-end to spend a holiday in Auckland.-—Air. and .Mrs. M. J. 0. Thacker and their small daughter Lesley wen' making Auckland their destination when they left Tokomaru Bay on holiday this week-end.-—Mr. D. Bullock is spending his annual furlough in Auckland.—Mr. .1. Frazer left to-day to spend his holidays in the Auckland and Taranaki districts.
