Members of the Poverty Bay Electric Rower Board to-ilav re-elected .Mr. F. It. Ball as their chairman for the ensuing year. Mr. Ball thus entering upon his thirteenth term in Trie control of the board's affairs. He first took the chair in 1924. when the hoard was formed to lake over the eleri rival seivices of the district. “It. seems to he Ihe order of the day to re-elect ihc chairmen of local bodies, and 1 feel that we should give Mr. Bail one more chance !” remarked Mr. TCorson, one of the original members of the hoard, in nominating Mr. Ball at to-days annual meeting. He added that the chairman had in the past fully earned the confidence, of members of the hoard and of the public, and that the hoard was fortunate in having Ids continued services.
Mr. B. J. Iloldsworth. another of Iho original members of the hoard, seconded tlm nomination, and there being none other forthcoming. Mr. Ball was declared re-elected, amidst applause.
Ihe chairman brictly returned thanks for his re-eieetion. stating that it was gratifying to he nominated by two of 1 lie oldest members.
The finance committee was re-appoint-ed as for last vear.
In regal'd lo the chairman's remuneration. it was moved hv Mr. 11. 11. DeCosta that it he on ilie same basis as last year, hut that the amount should he revised if and when the restoration of salary and wage nils was under consideration. This motion was carried iina nimniislv.
