WEDNESDAY’S SITTING (Herald Correspondent.) Mr. E, L. Walton, SAL, presided over the monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court in Wairoa on Wednesday. Sonny Mutaira and Dave Taumoto (Mr. G. M. O’Malley), jointly charged aith stealing on April 18 a keg and live gallons of beer, valued at £1 Hs 3d, the property of the Nuhaka Returned Soldiers’ Association, pleaded nut guilty. :l was stated by the police that the boor was what remained of 28 gallons after a returned soldiers’ reunion held on the evening of April 18. The beer was removed from (lie hull and the empty keg was found by the police two days later. .After hearing (he evidence the niagisIrate amended the charge against Tauinuto to one of allotting and ordered him lo come up lor sentence if called upon within 12 months, on eondiliou that he paid £1 towards the cost of the beer. David Slrachan, a van driver, who cut the corner when turning on to the War roa t ratlin bridge, was fined 20s and costs.
For allowing 123 horses which ho was driving to loiter unattended in Mitchel; street, A. D. Leash, against whom tin borough Council proceeded, was lined £2 and costs.

On a judgment summonse Hugh E. McGregor was ordered to pay the Hawke’s Bay Motor Company. Limited, £1 ]2s 6d forthwith, in default a. day's imprisonment. Roy Dulov was ordered to jiay L. C. Brice £8 9s lOd forthwith, in default eight days’ gaol. Tnpnae Karauria was ordered to pay IV. ,7. Clark £2l 18s 2d hv instalments of £2 a month, in default 21 days’ imprisonment .
