REGENT THEATRE

'' WHIPSAW'' TO-MORROW Delightful entertainment is presented ,n "Whipaaw," a Metro-Uoklwyn-Mayei picture, which commences a season at ihe Regent. Theatre to morrow. The principal parts arc taken by Myrna Loy and Silencer Tracy, two most accomplished and interesting players. "Whipsaw" is in every way worthy ol the standard set bv such successes as "The I'hin Man-' and "It. Happened One .Sight." Nearly everyone has heard the story of the detective who falls in love with the beautiful jewel thief he is supposed to bring to justice. The film deals with the activities of "O-Meii," but it differs from several similar pictures in that it demonstrates that it does not always take a whole army of Federal agents armed with machine-guns to capture, one public enemy. The »lory tells how lioss Meßride (Spencer Tracy) ■is detailed to pose as a fugitive from the law in order to gain the confidence of Vivian Palmer (Myrna boy), who is suspected of being a member of a gang which is believed to have stolen the Koronotf pearls, valued at CIOO.OCO. Not to be outdone ill subtlety. Vivian penetrates Mcßridc's disguise" from the start. but permits him to serve as a protector against, a rival gang which has been trying to filch the jewels. "Oaptaiu Blood" concludes to-night.
