BIRTHDAY PARTY (Hernld Correspondent.) On Easter Saturday afternoon the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Atkins was the scene of a most enjoyable gathering! of young people, the occasion being the twelfth birthday of their daughter Muriel. Ideal weather enabled outdoor games to be indulged in, after which the juveniles adjourned indoors, where they were regaled at a party tea, the centre of attraction being a handsome birthday cake with the proverbial candles. Competitions which severely tuxed the young brains were won as follows: — Memory test: Margaret Robb. Motor cars: Jean Monteith. The following adults assisted in entertaining the children : —Mesdames James Atkins, sen., W. J. Atkins, F. Ladd, A. Ritchie, Len. Sargent, J. Manson, James Atkins, jun., and R. Atkins. The juveniles included Margaret Robb, Jean Monteith, Collina Cameron, Peggy McDermott, Nola Lange, Pat Atkins, Zona Worsnop, Pat Manson, Mary McDermott, Vera Ladd, Anne Atkins, Shirley Worsnop, Joan Sargent, Shirley Sargent, Betty and Alma Atkins, Betty Stubbing*, Catherine Atkins, Jim and Ray Ritchie. Tom Atkins, Leslie Coppin, Gordon and Trevor Stubbingis, Lionel, lan and Brian Atkins. Miss Alsie Dever, Morere, is spending the Easter vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Dever, Ngatapa road. — Messrs. N. Roderick and W. Morrow, who spent Easter with the hitter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Morrow, returned south to-day.—Miss Ivy Conole, Tokomaru Bay. is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. Angland. At a recent meeting of parents arrangements were made for the annual school fancy dress ball to be held next Thursday. At Patutahi only two points of rain has been recorded to date for the month.
