INTEREST IN SCHOOL
COMMITTEE'S PRESENT
MR. A. F. CLARK FAREWELLED
Members of the Kaiti School Commit-* tee and Mr. J. T. Daly, headmaster, gathered at the office of Mr. T. A. Coloman, chairman of the committee, to farewell Mr. Arthur F. Clark, who has taken up an appointment in Napier. On behalf of the committee and the headmaster, Mr. Coleman presented Mr. Clark with a leather pocket wallet containing a card on which the names of the committee and headmaster had been autographed. I Mr. Coleman, in a short speech, referred to Mr. Clark's willingness to cooperate at all times with the other members of the committee and staff. Mr. Clark, who had held the position of treasurer, hadj>een a valued member of the committee. The speaker expressed the hope that in his new sphere Mr. Clark would find an opportunity to interest himself further in educational matters.
Other speakers, including Messrs. W D. Morley, L. R. Bright, A. Williamson and J. T. Daly, eulogised Mr. Clark's services to tfie school. In reply, Mr. Clark thanked the committee members and Mr. Daly for their gift. He explained that previously he. had had no interest in educational matters, but as he had four children attending the school he had felt it was his duty to render wbat little assistance he could. However, as a result of his association with the committee and the staff, his interest had been awakened. Mr. Clark added that if he could further the aims of the committee while resident in Napier his services would be at its disposal. _
