LONDON WOOL SALES BROKERS SATISFIED (Reed. Jan. 23, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON. Jan. 22, At the wool sales 9266 bales were offered, including 1924 bales of New Zealand and 7747 bales of Australian wool. There was a good selection, consisting chit fly of Australian merinos, which sold well at lull rates, apart from frequent withdrawals of the best, greasy merino. which \v;is held for higher limits. New Zealand clips sold were :—Slipe halfbred lambs. Pareora, top 18£d. average 17-jd.

Wool brokers are satisfied with the progress of the sales. A further increase, in the prices of merinos is neither expected nor desired. The market, however, is disappointed that Germany did not elite!' the market early. Buying on her behalf was not sustained.
