"TEMPORARY INSANITY" LONDON, Dec. I. "Ts not love a form of temporary insanity?" counsel asked a doctor during the hearing of a charge of murder at Bottisham (Camhs) Petty Sessions yesterday. The doctor replied in the allirmative. Bertie Webb, 26, of Swaffham Billbeck, who pleaded not guilty, was committed for trial charged, with the murder of Sidney Howe, 3(1, of Commercial road, Swaffham Bulbeck. Mr. (i. A. Ball, prosecuting, said thai on November IL' there was a knock at the door of Howe's cottage. Mrfl. Howe answered. Webb asked to see her husband. The prosecution suggested that Webb deliberately went to the house and on Howe appearing shot him dead. After arguments in court, the Clerk told the Bench that a doctor called as a witness could not claim privilege. Dr. A. F. Gilbert said he had no knowledge that Webb's brother or his grandfather had sniftered from mental "rouble. On one occasion Webb had appeared .somewhat strange. That wan possibly due to a love affair ai the time when he was attending him ia 1932.
