SENSATION AT HAWERA .WARNING OF EJECTION Taking as one of the main lines of his argument that the Government's actions in the last lour years were modelled on the policy of the British National Government .which bait been approved by the electors that, day, Air H. G. D'ickie, National Government candidate lor Patea, defended the Government's actions in meeting the recent, depressed conditions in an address at Hawera. There was an attendance of over 1300, the meeting being probably the largest political gathering ever held in Hawera. The Alayor, Mr. J. EL Campbell, presided. There were several interruptions, but the audience was good-humored. The speaker criticised the Democrat Party for making all sorts of extravagant' promises. Air. Davy was a good window-dresser, but he would make the country worse than in 1930. Every vote, for the Democrats was definitely a voto for Labor. A sensation was caused at question time when Air. W. W. Cousins said he had received a note warning him that if he made a nuisance of himself bo would bo ejected. The chairman and the candidate denied knowledge of the. note. The candidate was accorded a vote of confidence. Daulton, 1; Mrs W. A. McCliskie. and Mrs Leggett, equal, 2; Mrs F. Shanks, 3Section F.
