. BRITAIN CRITICISED
INTERVENTION RESENTED
TOKIO April 5. Cpmmenting on Earl Stanhope’s statement in the House of Lords, that Britain offered friendly services to Japan and China, the foreign spokesman demanded: “Why not let lis alone, as Sino-Japanese relations arc becoming better, and mediation is superfluous. I understand that Britain disapproves of anyone making loans to China, .but I cannot comprehend the British policy. Apparently she still thinks that Britannia rules the waves, including the China Seas, the Sea of Japan, and the Pacific.”
