DR. W. A. BOWIE’S WORK
a 110 W ‘LIFE ILEMB E E SHI P In recognition of his great work in undertaking research into frozen meat and live stock problems,"thus beneliting tho district as a whole, Dr. W. A. Bowie was elected a life member of the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association to-day. Action in this respect was proposed bv the president, Mr. IT. G. Smith, who said that the farming 'community owed Dr. Jlowie a debt it could never f.ope to repay as a result of his investigations, and lie felt- that tho association should do something to recognise these efforts. Mr. ,1. C. Graham said that there was no doubt that Dr. Bowie had done a great deal of work voluntarily and without payment. He was always ready to help the farmers. Mr. It. W. Coop said that Dr. Bowie had spent much of his own time and money in investigating the facial eczema disease. Mr. Graham said that Dr. Bowie had done much other investigation into such questions as bone taint and, many other difficulties.
The motion to elect Dr. Bowie a life member was carried unanimously.
