A further successful flood light sports meeting was hold hv the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club on the Childers road reserve last- night. This was the third of the season’s weekly meetings, and a large crowd witnessed many close finishes. National dancing drew a large section of the public. This was conducted under the auspices of the Poverty Bay Piping and Dancing Association, and was the first occasion judging was done under the handicap principle in order to give all competitors an opportunity of winning. The success of this innovation was evident from tho large entries,.and the excellence of the handicapping was indicated in the evenjness of the points. The judges were Miss M, Kcany and Mr. H. McKnight, and the stewards were Messrs. P. Sim and W. W. Jonasen.
