Royal Cooks
THE King's interest in kitchens and 1 cooking is of long standing. After he came to the throne he naturally ceased to drop in at the Marlborough Club, as lie, had done when Prince of Wales. But when lie later paid it a visit he took care not to leave before inspecting the .kitchens. Probably the most accomplished of Royal chefs was King Leopold 11. of the Belgians. King George 's difficulty is that he is very seldom “allowed” to cook. King Leopold had a kitchen of lus own. This was near his study at the Palace of Laekeil.
It was considered an unusual mark of royal favor when the King showed it to a visitor.
